INTRODUCTION AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Over the past century the complexity of addressing conservation challenges in the Great Lakes Basin has increased. To ensure that the Great Lakes region continues to provide for people and nature, resource managers can use the natural resource management process known as collaborative adaptive management (CAM) to improve the effectiveness of strategic conservation efforts.

In this lesson, you will learn what adaptive management is and how it can be carried out collaboratively through CAM. You will also learn about CAM’s value and use and the guidelines for implementing it.
